STATEMENT OF DAVE OUWERKERK Age: 52 Occupation: Engineering Programs Manager Dave Ouwerkerk is married to Yasna. Together they have 4 children: Ian, Cory, Lisa, and Karyn. Born and raised in the South Bay, Dave has lived in Torrance 23 years. He enjoys family time and flying (private pilot). Dave is an Engineering Programs Manager working on Hydrogen Fuel Cell and Electric Vehicles - transportation needed for our future sustainability, oil independence, and environmental improvement. Dave is committed to improving our future. He has previously served on the Torrance Airport Commission (for 8 years including 2 years as Chairman) and in other volunteer / public service roles. Dave Ouwerkerk stands for Smart Development for a Balanced Torrance. Torrance faces unrestrained development that threatens our quality of life. Traffic is getting worse every day. Our supporting infrastructure is strained, old, and in need of refurbishment or replacement. Torrance needs leadership that is committed to the goal of improving the quality of life. Torrance needs the return of government that is by the people and for the people through controls on campaign spending. It is out of control and beyond the reach of many qualified individuals.
